Xinlin Mould Expands Lu'an Base with New Mg/Al Alloy Pilot Center

Amid the wave of lightweight development in new energy vehicles, the die-casting mold industry is accelerating its upgrade. Recently, the Magnesium & Aluminum Alloy and Semi-Solid Mold and Product R&D Pilot Center at the Anhui Lu'an Die-Casting Mold Plant No. 3 (hereinafter referred to as "Lu'an Plant No. 3") of Ningbo Xinlin Mould Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Xinlin Mould") was officially put into operation. This plant commenced production in May 2024. The launch of this pilot center marks a key breakthrough for Xinlin Mould in capacity layout, technological R&D, and market expansion, further strengthening its competitiveness in the high-end die-casting mold sector.

Xinlin Mould's Lu'an Plant Special Steel Material Heat Treatment Workshop for Molds

Xinlin Mould has been deeply engaged in the magnesium and aluminum alloy die-casting mold field for many years. Relying on the mature operations of its Ningbo Plant No. 1 and No. 2, it has accumulated abundant technical and customer resources. To implement its differentiated business strategy, the company invested in and established Lu'an Plant No. 3. Its core business covers die-casting mold design, R&D, manufacturing, and heat treatment of special steel materials for molds. It has rapidly grown into the largest-scale die-casting mold manufacturing base in Anhui and surrounding regions, filling the gap in regional high-end, large die-casting mold production capacity.

Application Case of Semi-Solid Magnesium Alloy Mold

Building upon the stable operation of the plant, Xinlin Mould recently established the Magnesium & Aluminum Alloy and Semi-Solid Mold and Product R&D Pilot Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Pilot Center"), creating an integrated ecosystem of "production + R&D + pilot manufacturing." The Pilot Center is equipped with large die-casting machines of various specifications such as 4500T, 2000T, and 850T, as well as large 3000T and 1250T die-casting machines integrating "die-casting + semi-solid magnesium alloy TPI" technology. Complemented by supporting equipment like magnesium alloy dosing furnaces, aluminum alloy furnaces, high-vacuum machines, mold temperature controllers, and peripheral auxiliary equipment forming intelligent die-casting cells, it can efficiently complete the pilot manufacturing of high-precision semi-solid magnesium alloy, high-pressure magnesium alloy, and aluminum alloy die-casting molds and components. This setup caters to the R&D needs for core components in new energy vehicles, humanoid robots, electric bicycles, low-altitude aircraft, and more.

Application Case of High-Pressure Magnesium Alloy Mold

To ensure pilot manufacturing quality, the Pilot Center is equipped with internationally advanced inspection equipment such as spectrometers, X-ray inspection machines, and ZEISS coordinate measuring machines, enabling full-process quality control. Simultaneously, the plant's precision machining workshop has introduced 6 high-precision international brand machine tools: 2 Mazak vertical machining centers, 2 Mazak horizontal machining centers, and 2 Makino five-axis machining centers. This further enhances capabilities for complex mold machining and product pilot manufacturing, allowing the center to undertake self-developed semi-solid magnesium alloy, high-pressure magnesium alloy, and aluminum alloy die-casting mold trials, as well as small-batch magnesium and aluminum alloy product production verification.

Mr. Le Fenglin, General Manager of Xinlin Mould, stated that full-chain service capability is the company's core competitiveness. It enables a rapid response to customers' cycle time and quality control demands during the early R&D phase, providing one-stop solutions. Currently, the company has established stable collaborations with OEMs like Dongfeng, Changan, and Chery, as well as multiple Tier 1 automotive component enterprises. Its products are widely used in core areas of new energy vehicles and have received high recognition from the industry.

It is reported that Xinlin Mould has always adhered to differentiated operations, continuously investing in technological R&D and equipment upgrades, and possesses independent production capabilities for large-tonnage magnesium and aluminum alloy die-casting molds. The comprehensive advancement of the Lu'an base is a significant move by the company to deepen its presence in the high-end market. In the future, Xinlin Mould will continue to focus on technological innovation, improve its production capacity layout, and contribute to the lightweight transformation of the automotive industry and the high-quality development of the die-casting sector.
