The Magnesium Era Accelerates: Lightweight Innovation Gains Momentum at CHINA DIECASTING
CHINA DIECASTING & CHINA NONFERROUS 2025 marked a pivotal moment for the magnesium casting industry, as magnesium alloys moved decisively from emerging solutions to a core driver of lightweight innovation.
The Magnesium Casting Chain Area in Hall N4 emerged as one of the exhibition’s most dynamic highlights, bringing together leading equipment manufacturers, material suppliers, and component producers to present a complete magnesium casting ecosystem. From high-precision forming equipment to advanced end-use applications, the zone demonstrated the industry’s rapid progress toward large-scale, high-quality magnesium adoption.

Key technology highlights included ultra-large semi-solid and injection solutions, breakthrough dual-injection systems, and integrated process technologies supporting safety, corrosion resistance, and production stability. On the application side, magnesium components for electric vehicles and electronics — such as e-drive housings, instrument panel structures, shielding components, and structural brackets — illustrated magnesium’s growing role in functional integration and weight reduction.
Beyond individual technologies, the exhibition revealed a broader industry trend: magnesium casting is increasingly supported by a mature value chain, enabling faster commercialization and wider industrial adoption. This transition reflects the industry’s response to pressing demands for energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and performance optimization.
Building on this momentum, CHINA DIECASTING & CHINA NONFERROUS 2026 will be held on July 15–17, 2026, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (Halls N1–N4). Under the theme “Twin Engines: Al & Mg, A Lightweight Future,” the next edition will further strengthen its focus on magnesium casting technologies, applications, and global collaboration — positioning magnesium as a key pillar of future lightweight manufacturing.
