Development and Prospects of Die-Casting Technology in China

Joined Bühler in 2011, initially serving as a Service Engineer and Trainer. In 2018, he was promoted to Product Manager, responsible for market research on China's DC industry, as well as the management and promotion of Bühler's products. During this period, he led the successful launch of megacasting machines including Carat 560–920, which have been widely recognized by global customers. Starting in 2026, his scope has expanded to the global market, granting him in-depth insights into the development and evolution of the global die-casting industry.
Brief Abstract of the Presentation
This presentation focuses on the evolution of China's DC industry, centering on 3 core areas: Megacasting, Magnesium, and Brazeable Die-Casting, with domestic and international cases shared. Since the rise of Megacasting in 2020, China has taken a lead in the world, yet faces challenges such as overcapacity. Magnesium alloy is widely used in automotive interiors and two-wheelers for its lightweight and cost advantages, but its application in large components is limited by high post-processing costs, injection volume constraints, and heavy investment. Brazeable die-casting resolves compatibility issues through material and process optimization, suitable for high-end parts like liquid-cooled components, though demanding higher process and equipment performance.
